There are various beaches within a short 15 min drive, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima.

Properties in El Galan are centred around the La Fuente commercial area which has a good selection of bars, restaurants, shops and internet cafés. There are a few small supermarkets, which stocks day-to-day basicsand British Brands, and a larger Mercadona just a 10 minute walk away. There are various supermarkets along the N332, Consum / Carrefour / Lidl and Aldi, with everything you could need (lots of British brands) around a 10 minute drive away.
Orihuela Costa has excellent healthcare facilities and schools and is home to a thriving expat community
At the heart of Villamartin is a central square, which has banks, supermarket, a variety of shops, cafes bars and restaurants so a great way to relax, and golf course with a further 2 golf courses minutes away, Las Ramblas and Campomoar. One of the golf courses is a championship golf course. There is a new shopping centre built 5 mins from villamartin named La Zenia Boulevard, with 250 stores including Primark, H&M, Zara, Alcampo. Also 5 mins drive from villamartin you also have one of the biggest open air markets on the Costa Blanca, held every Saturday at Playa La Flamenca. Also close to Villamartin is the old administrative town of Orihuela, famous for its market gardens and splendid baroque cathedral. There is plenty of free newspapers available from cafe's, bar's, everywhere really, which contain help for everything you will ever need. if you have never been to the Costa Blanca, you will find it to be one of the most relaxing places to be.
